Portsmouth Local Plan consultation goes live
Portsmouth City Council has created a new draft local plan for the city which sets out where we build new homes, where there are opportunities to create local jobs and the facilities we need, as well as how we protect our environment and create high quality public and community spaces.
The local plan looks at opportunities across the whole of Portsmouth, including the options for the site of the proposed Lennox Point development – and people in the city are being asked to share their feedback on the plan’s ideas and proposals.
You can find out more about the local plan and visit the virtual consultation room at www.portsmouth.gov.uk/localplan. There will also be a number of drop-in events for people who aren’t online.
We’re keen to hear people’s feedback on the local plan and we will be listening to people’s views and ideas as we continue to develop the Lennox Point masterplan and work towards submitting our planning application in 2022.
Lennox Point promotional report
To support the information available in the local plan, we prepared a detailed promotion report about Lennox Point and the unique opportunity the city has to create a sustainable new community on this site with 3,500 new homes and a leading marine employment hub.
Our report sets out the history of the Lennox Point proposal, how it responds to the need for new homes and job creation in Portsmouth and includes lots of information about the site and current planning policy. You can also read more detail about the Lennox Point masterplan, the steps we’re taking towards a planning application and funding for the development.
